The Wolf’s Take 🍟
Square Cow Moovers has only started franchising as of 2022, but they show their chops in the moving business with their corporate territories. The founding team has been in the business since 2008, so they’ve strategically waited to build out their own book of business and master their craft befor franchising.
With an investment that tops out at $394k, territories can grow to almost 10x that amount from a revenue standpoint. There’s also room in metro markets to build out multiple 7 figure businesses.
This is an industry that already has existing players in the franchise, but Square Cow Moovers is trying to differentiate itself with a modern brand, laser focus on customer service, and fair and transparent pricing in an industry that is known to deliver poor customer satisfaction.
The moving industry is massive and has room for more success stories – check out Square Cow Moovers is if you’re looking for an exciting emerging non-brick & mortar franchise!

The Wolf’s Take 🍟
I spoke recently with the CEO of Hoppin’, another self-serve pub concept. This could be an area to keep an eye to see if more franchises enter the space, but Tapville shows a healthy average unit volume (though it does run a higher investment).
The margins on alcohol (as I learned from my conversation with Hoppin’ CEO) are far higher than food, and with self-serve concepts you don’t need as many staff members to service customers, which also helps with your gross margin.
Overall, if you’re in the restaurant business, concepts like these could be a nice addition to the portfolio!

FROM THE POD
Dave Wood – Mahana Fresh
Dave Wood went from Domino’s delivery driver, to 20 unit Domino’s owner, before founding Mahana Fresh as a franchisor.
Not to mention, we chatted about this college days and how he just so happened to live down the hall from Michael Jordan! This was a super fun conversation with a franchise veteran.
